Police Department

The Borough's Police Department, under control of the Public Safety Director, has 17 uniformed officers and four full and two part time communications officers. For administrative matters the Police Department can be reached by dialing 327-5300.

The Saddle River Police Department is comprised of seventeen highly trained officers who are devoted to the community they serve.  Our police cars are equipped with portable defibrillators, and all of our police officers are certified in the use of these life saving devices.  The Detective Bureau enjoys an excellent reputation for thoroughness and efficiency in resolving criminal activity in town.  We work closely with our schools in various programs that aid our youngsters in public safety concerns.  Our D.A.R.E. program, now in its eleventh year, is a most successful tool in teaching children the perils of drug abuse, and positive methods that will keep them drug and violence free, and the Department boasts an active Crime Prevention Bureau that educates our residents about home security.

In an average year, the Police Department responds to approximately 3,350 calls for assistance.

Police headquarters, located at 83 E. Allendale Road, is open to the public 24 hours per day.  Residents may visit our website at www.saddleriverpd.com.

A Reminder from the Police and Fire Departments: In order to speed an emergency response these departments request that all homeowners number their houses in a manner which is visible from the street.
