WELCOME TO SADDLE RIVER
Thank you for your interest in the Borough of Saddle River. We are a small rural community of three thousand residents, (approximately 1250 homes) within an area slightly less than five square miles. Our local government is dedicated to maintaining the bucolic character of the Borough thereby providing a quiet and friendly environment to live and raise a family. Our public safety department is one of the finest in the County and totally dedicated to serving our residents. Our residents consist of individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds and represent individuals of achievement in a wide range of professions, businesses and the arts. Our common interest is the enjoyment of the lifestyle that Saddle River provides. We foster a community spirit of working together to achieve common goals. In an era of unbridled development we are committed to the preservation of a community, of unique character reminiscent of quiet rural life styles which were prevalent in years gone by. Voting
Voting for Federal, State, County, Municipal and School Elections are held at the Fire Department Building at 85 East Allendale Road.
Residents may register to vote at the office of the Borough Clerk during normal business hours or may obtain a mail-in voter registration application from the Borough Clerk or the Bergen County Clerk.

Horses
Horses may be kept by the residents for their own use. A maximum of one horse per acre is permitted. All stables must be located in the rear yard at least 85 feet away from the property line. Horses are not permitted on the Borough lawns, parks or recreational lands.
Stables and stable yards are to be kept and maintained in a clean condition. Manure stored temporarily in stable yards is required to be removed at least once each month. |
