THE SADDLE RIVER GARDEN CLUB

The Saddle River Garden Club was organized April 25, 1939, "to stimulate the knowledge of gardening among amateurs; to encourage civic planting; and to aid in the protection of native trees, plants and birds." The members have continued to carry out these original purposes in association with the Federation of Garden Clubs of Bergen County from 1940 until its disbandment in 1983, with the Garden Club of New Jersey since 1955, with the Audubon Society since 1957, and Skylands Association since 1984.
